The legal basis for processing your application documents is Article 6 (1) (b) and Article 88 (1) GDPR in conjunction with Section 26 (1) (1) BDSG.

2.4. Cookies and similar technologies for analysis purposes

To improve our website, we use cookies and comparable technologies (such as web beacons) to statistically record and analyze general usage behavior based on access data. We also use analysis services to evaluate the use of our various marketing channels. A cookie is a small text file that is stored on your device by the browser. Cookies are not used to run programs or load viruses onto your computer.

The legal basis for the data processing described in this section is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR, based on our legitimate interest in designing and continuously optimizing our website in line with requirements.

In the following list of the technologies we use, you will also find information on the options to object to our analysis measures using so-called opt-out cookies. Please note that after deleting all cookies in your browser or later using another browser and/or profile, an opt-out cookie must be set again.

2.4.1. Google Analytics

On our websites, we use Google Analytics, a web analysis service provided by Google Ireland Limited (https://www.google.de/intl/de/about/), Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (“Google”). In this context, pseudonymized user profiles are created and cookies (see “Cookies” section) are used. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website, such as

  1. the browser type/version,
  2. the operating system used,
  3. the referrer URL (the previously visited page),
  4. the host name of the accessing computer (IP address) and
  5. time of the server request,

are transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there. The information is used to evaluate the use of the website, to compile reports on website activity and to provide other services related to website activity and Internet usage for the purposes of market research and to tailor these websites to meet the needs of users.

This information may also be transferred to third parties if this is required by law or if third parties process this data on behalf of third parties. Under no circumstances will your IP address be combined with other data from Google. The IP addresses are anonymized so that allocation is not possible (IP masking).

You can prevent the installation of cookies by setting your browser software accordingly; however, we would like to point out that in this case you may not be able to use all functions of this website to their full extent.

These processing operations are carried out exclusively with express consent in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR.

You can also prevent the collection of data generated by the cookie and related to your use of the website (including your IP address) and the processing of this data by Google by downloading and installing a browser add-on (https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de).

The privacy policy of Google Analytics can be viewed at: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/6004245?hl=de.

2.4.2. DoubleClick Ad Exchange

If DoubleClick Ad Exchange, a web advertising service provided by Google Inc., USA (“Google”), places advertising (text ads, banners, etc.) on this website, your browser may save a cookie sent by Google Inc. or third parties. The information stored in the cookie can be recorded, collected and evaluated by Google Inc. or by third parties.

In addition, DoubleClick Ad Exchange also uses so-called “WebBacons” (small invisible graphics) to collect information, which can be used to record, collect and evaluate simple actions such as visitor traffic on the website.

The information generated by the cookie and/or web bacon about your use of this website is transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. Google uses the information obtained in this way to evaluate your usage behavior with regard to DoubleClick Ad Exchange ads. Google may also transfer this information to third parties if this is required by law or if third parties process this data on behalf of Google.

You can prevent cookies from being saved on your hard drive and from displaying web bacons. To do this, you must select “do not accept cookies” in your browser settings (in Internet Explorer under “Extras/Internet Options/Privacy/Settings”, in Firefox under “Extras/Settings/Privacy/Cookies”).

Google Conversion Tracking is an analysis service provided by Google Inc. (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA; “Google”). When you click on an ad placed by Google, a conversion tracking cookie is stored on your computer.

If you visit certain pages on our website and the cookie has not yet expired, Google and we can recognize that you clicked on the ad and were redirected to that page. The information collected using the conversion cookie is used to create conversion statistics. This tells us the total number of users who clicked on one of our ads and were redirected to a page with a conversion tracking tag. However, we do not receive any information that personally identifies users. Processing is carried out on the basis of Art. 6 (1) lit. f DSGVO based on the legitimate interest in targeted advertising and the analysis of the impact and efficiency of this advertising.

For reasons arising from your particular situation, you have the right to object at any time to this processing of personal data concerning you based on Art. 6 (1) f GDPR.

To do this, you can prevent cookies from being saved by selecting the appropriate technical settings in your browser software. However, we would like to point out that in this case you may not be able to use all functions of this website to their full extent. They will then not be included in the conversion tracking statistics.

You can also deactivate personalized advertising for you in Google's advertising settings. Instructions can be found at https://support.google.com/ads/answer/2662922?hl=de In addition, you can deactivate the use of cookies by third parties by visiting the Network Advertising Initiative's deactivation page at https://www.networkadvertising.org/choices/ and implementing the further opt-out information provided there.

The cookies are used to record visits to the website and anonymized data about the use of the website. There is no storage of personal data of visitors to the website. If you visit another website in the Google Display Network below, you will be shown advertisements that are likely to take into account previously viewed product and information areas.

Your data may also be transferred to the USA. There is an adequacy decision from the European Commission for data transfers to the USA.
Processing is carried out on the basis of Art. 6 (1) lit. f DSGVO out of the legitimate interest of targeting visitors to the website with advertising by displaying personalized, interest-based advertising ads to visitors to the provider's website when they visit other websites in the Google Display Network.

For reasons arising from your particular situation, you have the right to object at any time to this processing of personal data concerning you based on Art. 6 (1) f GDPR.

To do this, you can permanently deactivate Google's use of cookies by following the link below and downloading and installing the plug-in provided there: https://support.google.com/ads/answer/7395996?hl=de

5. Storage period

In principle, we only store personal data for as long as is necessary to fulfill the contractual or legal obligations for which we have collected the data. We will then delete the data immediately, unless we still need the data until the expiry of the statutory limitation period for evidentiary purposes for civil claims or due to legal storage obligations.

For evidence purposes, we must retain contract data for another three years from the end of the year in which the business relationship with you comes to an end. According to the statutory limitation period, any claims expire at this point in time at the earliest.

7. Right of withdrawal and objection

In accordance with Article 7 (2) GDPR, you have the right to withdraw your consent from us at any time. As a result, we will no longer continue data processing based on this consent in the future. Insofar as we process your data on the basis of legitimate interests in accordance with Article 6 (1) (f) GDPR, you have the right, in accordance with Article 21 GDPR, to object to the processing of your data and to give us reasons that arise from your particular situation and which, in your opinion, prevail over your legitimate interests.
